Budgam, Apr 20 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman Shari Shian organized a function as part of the birth anniversary of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), the grandson of Holy Prophet (PBUH), at Imambara Budgam.
He (AS) was born on third day of Shaban (eighth month of Islamic calendar) in 4th Hijri in the holy city of Madina in Saudi Arabia.
Senior Hurriyat leader and president Anjuman Shari Shian Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi could not attend the function as he was placed under house detention by the government. The spokesperson condemned his house arrest and called the move as direct interference in religious affairs.
On the occasion several religious scholars threw light on the life of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS).
“His birth anniversary reminds us of his supreme sacrifice, so it is celebrated with joy and happiness. The martyrs of Karbala cultivated the seeds of Islam through their blood,” said the scholars. (KNS)
