SSP Jammu says situation remained peaceful

Srinagar, Feb 18 (KNS): As the curfew remain imposed for the fourth consecutive day in Jammu district today, authorities on Monday relaxed curfew from some areas of the winter capital of the State.
The district administration today ordered relaxation in curfew for three hours in Jammu areas falling under Police Stations of Gandhi Nagar (except Police Post Nehru Park and Digiana), Channi Himmat, Sainik Colony, Trikuta Nagar and Satwari (except Police Posts of Belicharana and Gadighat).
The curfew was relaxed from 02.00 pm to 05:00 pm today.
District Magistrate Jammu however had stated that, restrictions would be in place in these areas under Section-144 on public gatherings, adding that official identity cards of the Civil Secretariat Employees and the staff deployed with Essential Services shall be treated as curfew pass to facilitate their movement.
The DM said in addition Air Tickets, Railway Tickets and Admit Cards for various examinations would be also treated as curfew passes, urging people to maintain peace and tranquility and do not allow the miscreants to create any trouble in their respective areas.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Tejinder Singh said the situation in the areas where curfew was relaxed remained peaceful.
However, curfew continued at some areas of Jammu throughout the day.
After protests and clashes in Jammu district post Lethpora attack on last Thursday, authorities had imposed curfew in Jammu district on February 15.
Meanwhile, mobile internet services continued to remain suspended in Jammu. (KNS)
