After Mehbooba, Omar seeks Sushma’s intervention for return of body of Kashmiri female student

Srinagar, Apr 13 (KNS): After PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, the National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Saturday sought the intervention of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for return of the body of a girl student of Kashmir’s Anantnag district who passed away in Bangladesh.

“Dear @SushmaSwaraj sahiba, I have received this request for help from journalists in Anantnag. Their colleague lost his sister Quaratulain, a student at Tahir-ul-Nissa medical college in Bangladesh. The family needs assistance getting the young lady’s mortal remains back,” Omar said while posting a hand written letter from a journalist on Twitter.

Earlier, the former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti had also sought Sushma Sawraj’s intervention in bringing the mortal remains of the deceased student back. Reports said the family members of the deceased couldn’t travel to Bangladesh due to lack of travel documents, which prompted Mehbooba Mufti to request Sushma Swaraj to intervene.

“Dear @SushmaSwaraj ji, Quratul Ain, a kashmiri student has died in Bangladesh. She was pursuing her studies in Tahir Ul Nisa Medical College. Request your help to the family to get her body home,” Mehbooba said in a tweet. (KNS)
