Briefs him about the initiatives underway on various fronts

Jammu, Mar 13 (KNS): Prof. Amitabh Mattoo, Advisor to the Chief Minister, met Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Prof. Mattoo briefed Governor about the initiatives underway, on various fronts, for advancing the interests of the people and the State of J&K.
Governor discussed with Prof. Mattoo the need for well planned efforts being made to nurture and advance the aspirations of youth and stressed the crucial importance of safeguarding the functioning of educational institutions at all levels and ensuring against the academic careers of students being wasted by unrest and disorder.
Governor also re-iterated the need for the Kashmir and Jammu Universities providing strong sustained support to enable the Kashmir and Jammu Cluster Universities to establish themselves. Interalia, there must be common examination and marking standards to ensure against dilution and deviation of standards, which will be extremely harmful to the cause of higher education. (KNS)
