Srinagar, Mar 27 (KNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that the actions against the separatists and militants that have been started by the Government of India will continue in the future.

As per Kashmir News Service (KNS) correspondent, addressing a press conference here, BJP’s National General Secretary Ram Madhav said that the party is in favour of early assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and want a proper government to serve the people.

He asked the Election Commission of India (ECI) to hold the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest.

Madhav lashed out at the regional parties in Jammu and Kashmir, saying that they are trying to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere here, adding that they recently boycotted the Municipal and Panchayat polls here and now are taking a lead to contest the upcoming parliamentary elections.

“I believe that the regional parties don’t understand the aspirations of people. People here want peace and development, but the regional parties are spoiling their aspirations to gain the votes,” he said, adding that they are doing politics for their vested interests.

He said that both NC and PDP are claiming that their workers are ‘real Mujahid’, “Are they Mujahids who kill a 12-year-old boy and try to rape girls”, he asked.

Asked about the alliance between BJP and PDP, Madhav said that since the party presumed that alliance is not working, it went ahead and pulled up its support following which the situation here has improved.

About Article 370, BJP leader said, “The party has not changed it stand on it.”

Lashing out at NC-Cong friendly contest, terming it as a “drama”, Madhav said “this drama that is going on that they are in alliance in Jammu, but fighting in Kashmir. They are trying various types of exercises against Modi and the BJP, let them do it. We will win two seats in Jammu and one in Ladakh and will try our best in Kashmir so that our candidates go forward.”

About PDP’s support to challenge ban on Jamaat and JKLF if party comes to power, Madhav said, “They are making such statements as they will not come into the power again.”

BJP leader also demanded FIR against NC’s candidate, Muhammad Akbar Lone for raising Pro-Pakistan slogans. “We want Fir be registered against Lone for speaking in favour of Pakistan,” he added.

About LS elections, Madhav said the party is very much confident that it will retain the two seats in Jammu and one in Ladakh, adding that the party is also focusing on three seats in Kashmir to emerge victorious here as well.

Referring to a query about Congress’s announcement regarding providing Rs 72000 per year to the downtrodden families across the country, Madhav said, “Such announcements are being made as the party (Congress) knows that it can’t win the upcoming elections.”

About alliance with any party, he said that there is no alliance with any party as BJP is no longer an outsider but a mainstream party in the State, adding that BJP is now a mainstream party even though its footprints are not huge but “we are no longer outsiders.” (KNS)
