Demand probe into ‘thrashing’ of their president

Srinagar, Jan 17 (KNS): The supporters of Langate legislator Engineer Abdul Rasheed Tuesday staged protest against what they termed as the mishandling of ‘AIP president’ in assembly.
The protesters holding banners displaying slogans marched towards Srinagar’s Press Colony and chanted slogans in favour of Er Rasheed.
The protesters were demanding probe into the ‘misbehaving and thrashing’ of their president in state assembly at Jammu.
Engineer Rasheed who has decided to boycott the ongoing Budget Session had said that he was not only humiliated by Speaker, opposition legislators and Marshalls but was also ‘thrashed and abused’ in the Assembly.
According to the KNS correspondent, the protesting supporters of AIP alleged that their voice is being muzzled and they are not being allowed to express themselves freely.
“Our leader was humiliated in the Assembly for raising the voice of people. National Conference members Muhammad Akbar Lone and Deputy Speaker Nazir Gurezi showered choicest invectives on Rasheed while Marshalls on the instructions of Speaker manhandled him,” the protesting workers said.
They also sought probe into the alleged misbehaving and thrashing of their Langate legislator in state assembly at Jammu on Monday. (KNS)
