AAC pays rich tributes to Late Moulvi Yousuf Shah on his 53rd death anniversary

Srinagar, 10 May, (KNS): J&K Awami Action Committee on Sunday expressed rich tributes to Muhajir-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Yousuf Shah on his 53rd death anniversary and recalled his great services and contributions on religious and political front.

According to statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), J&K Awami action committee Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who is under house detention since August last year, recalled the great services and contributions of the son of soil in creating religious political and social awareness among the masses in J&K and providing leadership and guidance to them.

Paying rich tributes to Muhajir-e-Millat, AAC said the translation and commentary of Holy Quran in Kashmiri language by the Late Mirwaiz put Kashmir on the global Islamic map and greatly helped in spread and understanding the message of Quran in vernacular language.

AAC in a statement said that Muhajir-e-Millat’s political stand of honouring the will of people of J&K for which he suffered exile cannot be forgotten and is the way to peace and prosperity in the subcontinent.

AAC said due to Covid-19 pandemic, no public function to commemorate the services of the late Mirwaiz could be held in Srinagar. However, in Muzzafarbad PM Raja Farooq Haider and his cabinet ministers offered Fateh Khawani at the grave of Muhajir-e-Millat, statement said. (KNS)
