99 RCC Beacon inaugurates Kaindy bridge in Mawer, locals express glad

Handwara, Dec 04 (KNS): The dreams of Mawer area of north Kashmir's Kupwara district came true on Friday after 99RCC Beacon authorities inaugurated Kaindy bridge, the long pending demand of locals.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS) correspondent, the 21.75 meter Kandi bridge was inaugurated by 17 Infantry Brigadier, Nowgam KDS Jhalla in presence of BDC Mawer Tahir Aftab and several beacon officials besides presence of locals.

An official told KNS that the work on the bridge was taken up in 2019 and was completed in September of the ongoing year. He said the total cost of the bridge was 101.35 Lakhs, saying the bridge will connect Nowgam sector to the Handwara town.

Notably the people of the area in past were facing facing manifold hardships due to poor connectivity between the areas. However after completion of Kandi bridge locals expressed glad over the effort utilised by authorities.

VK Srivastava, a Beacon official of 99 RCC told KNS that work on the bridge was taken up on priority basis for the benifit of people and added the work on multiple small bridges are on who will be completed in a short span of time. (KNS)
