Srinagar, Mar 25 (KNS): District Hospital Baramulla has performed a successful laparoscopic cholecystectomy of a lady patient and about 982 stones were recovered from the gall bladder specimen, officials said.
According to KNS correspondent Nadeen Khawaja, the officials said that a 34 year old female patient with h/o hypothyroidism and hypertension on treatment weighing about 120 kgs having had recurrent attacks acute cholecystitis was optimized for surgery and a successful laparoscopic cholecystectomy was performed on her on Mar 23 in District Hospital Baramulla and about 982 stones were recovered from the gall bladder specimen.
The team comprised of Dr Shakeeb Nabi Lone (minimal access surgeon), Dr Syed Nazima (Consultant Anaesthesia) and theatre assistants Abdul Karim, Fareed, Syed Asgar, Nazir Chenga and Junaid Sofi.
The Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman and Medical Superintendent, DH Baramulla applauded the operating team for an uneventful surgery on a high risk case with morbid obesity. (KNS)
