Srinagar, June 16 (KNS): Inspector general of police Kashmir zone Vijay Kumar Tuesday said that 94 militants have been killed in the current year, most of them in south Kashmir even as he added that the armed forces will now focus on northern parts of the valley.
He was speaking to media soon after Shopian encounter ended in which three militants were killed in a gunfight with armed forces at Turakwangam area of the district on Tuesday. This was the fifth encounter in the district so far this month in which 17 militants were killed.
