72nd  Republic Day celebrated in  Handwara Police Lines

 Handwara January 26:(KNS)   72nd Republic Day was celebrated with great fervour, gaiety & lots of patriotic enthusiasm at District Police Lines Handwara. 

         Police, Army, CAPF and other forces  participated in Republic Day celebration which concluded peacefully.

   SP Handwara Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS accompanied by   Addl. Deputy Commissioner Handwara  Nazir Ahmad Mir unfurled the National flag .

          Chief Guest inspected the parade and took salute on March Past.
         The parade was commanded by Inspector Muhsin Ahmad consisting the contigents of JKP, IRP, SSB, BSF, CRPF, Home Guards and NCC.

      ASP Handwara Mashkoor Ahmad-JKPS SDPO Handwara Fariz Hussain-JKPS DySP DAR Handwara Shri Abdul Raqeeb-JKPS COs of SSB, CRPF, BSF, Army Medical Superintendent DH Handwara, Executive Engineers of PHE, PDD, I&FC, R&B Division Handwara, DDC Members, Chairman Municipal Comittee Handwara, President Trade Federation Handwara, respectable citizens of PD Handwara and other officers of Police and civil administration were also present on the occassion.

    SP Handwara Dr G V Sundeep Chakravarthy IPS  in his speech congratulated the participants for celebrating 72nd Republic Day, and also appreciated role of Police and Civil administration in maintaining peace and order by their selfless efforts. The martyrs of Police and CAPF who sacrificed their lives for nation were paid rich tribute. The work of Police, CAPF and civil administration was hailed by  SP Handwara for their selfless efforts and dedication in making recently conducted DDC elections successful and peaceful.

        The heroes  who fought for freedom of Nation were remembered and paid rich tribute.

     The parade was follwed by colourful cultural programmes in which the students of different schools participated.

     SgCt. Naseer Ahmad and SgCt. Ghulam Mustafa who sacrificed their precious lives while safeguarding national integrity were awarded Shourya Chakra for their Valour and courage.

     
         At the end, the prizes were distributed among the best contingents of parade and other participants and the NOK's of Police Martyrs . 

     The prizes and appreciation  certificates from Police and Civil administration were also given to the Police Personnel and other civil employees for their best performance in safeguarding general public.(KNS)
