378 person challaned for not wearing masks, 1,50000 fine realised

Rajouri July 17 (KNS): Tightening its noose against violation of norms in terms of not wearing face masks which has been made mandatory by District Magistrate Rajouri, Police authorities in Rajouri district have fined 378 person in last three days with one lakh and fifty thousand rupees has been realised as fine.

Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri, Chandan Kohli said that police have launched a drive against violators in the district to ensure use of face masks on all public places.

He said that all the Station House Officers (SHOs) and Incharge Police Posts have been advised to create special teams for implementation of DMs order and a drive in this aspect is going on from last three days.

" We have challaned 378 person in last three days so far and a fine to the tune of one lakh and fifty thousand rupees has been realised from violators." said SSP.

He added that even some senior officers of civil department as well as cops have been fined.

" All the citizens are appealed to ensure use of face masks at all public places." he added.

SSP further said that all the citizen should ensure following all the precautionary measures advised for prevention and containment of COVID19 that include use of face masks, social distancing and regular hand washing which is prerequisite to save ourselves and our families from this virus.
