Srinagar, Oct 17 (KNS): At least four persons inclduing a cop were killed in an encounter that raged between forces and militants in Syed Ali Akbar area of Srinagar.
A top police officer confirmed to KNS that three militants were killed in the gunfight.
However, he said that they are ascertaining the facts whether all the three killed in the gunfight were militants or not.
He said that the civilians were evacuated prior to the gunfight and later there was no civilian present in the house where militants were holed up.
A top police officer told KNS that a cop was also killed in the gunfight.
He said that the identity of militants is being ascertained.
Law enforcing authorities have suspended mobile internet services and closed schools and colleges in the entire Srinagar city. (KNS)
