2 days traditional folk music celebration held at Town Hall Kunzer

Kunzer, Oct 27 (KNS):Gulshan Cultural Forum Kashmir on Tuesday organized a two-day traditional folk music celebration at Town Hall Kunzer in north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

According to KNS correspondent, Gulshan Cultural Forum Kashmir in collaboration with Sangeet Natak Academy launched the Folk Music Festival.

The festival was inaugurated by renowned folk actor and Sangeet Natak Academy Awardee Gulzar Ahmed Ganai as the special guest.

Leading educationist Prof. Dr Abdul Jabbar Gokhami presided over the function Mohi-ud-Din Aajez and renowned Sufi poet Sheikh Ghulam Rasool were present in the Presidency as guest of honor.

Forum President Syed Bashir Kausar in his welcome address stated the aims and objectives of the program.

On this occasion, the General Secretary of the Forum, Gulshan Badrani, while mentioning the Sangeet Natak Academy and local cultural institutions, termed these cultural programs as an important means of relieving mental stress.

Gulzar Ganai, the special guest of the festival, appreciated the efforts of the Gulshan Cultural Forum and said that linking theater with literature in this way is a matter of urgency. Gulshan Badrani, Forum workers Latif Niazi, Ashok Kak, Pirzada Ashraf, Khurshid Khamosh Maqbool Sheida, Idrees Badrani, Idrak Naseem.Appreciating the work of Ahmed bin Fayyad and expressing his views, he added that it is not only difficult but also impossible to keep cultural activities alive in this material age, if the relevant government and non-government agencies as well as other literary, educational and Private businesses do not come forward. He thanked the cultural institutions of the Center including Sangeet Natak Academy, Delhi and the Union Ministry of Culture and said that if the support of these institutions had not been extended to the cultural associations of Kashmir, the names of these associations would not be heard in Kashmir today. There are bright symbols of the cultural landscape. He treated those artists as well as those who treated unfavorable situations. He was named and thanked for his work towards the theater.(KNS)
