Secretary Youth Service and Sports accompanied by DC Budgam inspected pace of work

Budgam, July 16 (KNS) : Secretary Youth Service and Sports J&K Sarmad Hafeez (IAS) accompanied by District Development Commissioner Budgam Shahabaz Ahmad Mirza (KAS) and Secretary Sports Council J&K Dr Naseem Choudary today visited the spot and site were construction work on indoor stadium , adjacent to sports ground Budgam is presently going on in full swing. While inspecting the status of work done till date on the stadium the Commissioner Secretary directed the concerned executing agency, J&K Sports Council to accelerate the pace of work ,add more man power and machinery and take advantage of before season and prevailing weather conditions.

During the inspection the Commissioner Secretary was apprised that the project is coming at the cost of Rs 4 Crore. The work on the project was started in January 2020, however due to fall out of covid 19 pandemic the pace of work got hampered to a large extent. Since ease of restrictions the work on the project got restarted with full capacity and force. District Administration played pivotal role in facilitating all logical support in enabling to restart the work without any delay particularly providing all requisite passes and permissions, Besides material needed for construction purpose.

It was also given out that play fiels at Kralpathri, Sikinambal shall be completed very soon as work on these stadiums is in full swing, besides synthetic courts for the sports like volleyball, basketball, badminton located at different places shall be completed within one month.

Secretary reiterated that time frame given for completion of these projects will be monitored minutely and concerned authorities and executing agencies shall be made responsible to execute the needful within already targeted time frame and accordingly facilitate simultaneous handover of the same for further utilization.

Later Secretary YSS along with DDC Budgam and Secretary J&K Sports Council and other concerned visited sports stadium Gogoo Humhamma in order to assess the readiness of sports ground so that it can be thrown open for all sports activities .During the inspection of sports stadium it was given out that the stadium equipped with all facilities has been developed at a cost of 2.74 Crores .The facilities include a well designed standard pavilion were sports persons as well as authorities could feel at ease and can have all required comfort available. Besides the stadium has facility of arranging day/night sports activities for which sufficient artificial lighting system has been already installed.

Speaking on the occasion secretary emphasized the need that approach links connecting stadium on each side shall be developed on fast track basis ,in addition parking space around stadium has to be broadened enough to avoid conjunction and in conveniences sports person and spectators may go through during sports activities at the ground.
The DDC on the occasion assured the visiting authority that apart from adhering instructions relating to carrying out remaining need full work on the sports ground on fast track basis , we are looking for other options where under the stadium can be beautified and equipped with all latest facilities at par with other stadiums.
