Says 'law will take its own course'

New Delhi, Feb 16 (KNS): Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Friday expressed shock over the protests rallies taken by Hindu Ekta Munch at Kathua in support of accused in the rape and murder of eight year old girl.
Terming use of tri color by Hindu Ekta Munch as “desecration” to it, Mehbooba said she was terrified by such act.
In an veiled message to the group protesting in favor of the accused Mehbooba also said that law will take its own course.
“Appalled by the marches & protests in defense of the recently apprehended rapist in Kathua. Also horrified by their use of our national flag in these demonstrations, this is nothing short of desecration. The accused has been arrested & the law will follow its course,” Mehbooba wrote on Twitter.
Protests were taken by Hindu Ekta Munch in support of the accused in which tri color had also appeared.
Earlier, on February 10, Additional Director General of Police, Crime Branch Jammu and Kashmir, reported that an SPO Deepak Khajuria who was among those tasked with tracing the girl when she went missing, “raped and murdered the girl after holding her captive for a week”. (KNS)
